Third suspect in congressional intern killing responsible for girlfriend's slaying

Of searching police say Nequan Lucas is behind bars tonight. Our Matt Gregory walks us through tonight's new developments. The arrest of a third suspect in the murder of a Capitol Hill intern also, according to Jeanine Pirro, the US attorney for the District of Columbia, cleared another homicide case, the murder of that suspect, Naquan Lucas's girlfriend, 17-year-old Zoe Kelly. They were masked up and they were gunned up and they were ready for a fight. US Attorney Jeanine Pirro announcing the 3rd arrest in the death of Capitol Hill intern Eric Tarpinian Yaam.

His name is Naquan Lucas. Pirro stood flanked by two pictures one of Tarpinian Yaam, the other a picture of another victim. -- Pirro says Lucas -- killed. The 18-year-old has also been indicted today.

For the shooting death of his own girlfriend, -- 17 -- year old DC resident Zoe Kelly. She was an outgoing person. She was just outgoing. She was, she was like a starburst.

Like she was just like a burst of energy, -- good -- energy. Outside of court, we spoke to Kelly's mother. She says 5 days after police say the Tyler House crew gunshots killed Tarpinian Yaam, she got the call, -- police found her daughter -- killed.

Exactly. Hurt, sadness. -- The -- family of Zoe Kelly says they've had their suspicions for some time about who killed her, but after police arrested Lucas last night, a new feeling came over them. Lightheaded.

It's excited. Glad, joyful. 18-year-old Naquan Lucas has pleaded not guilty in both murders, and while prosecutors prepare to try Lucas and the 2 17-year-olds, Pirro seemed to point some blame at DC's juvenile system. All three of these juveniles that I've just mentioned. are known to the juvenile court.
