[Music] with one of the most elusive intelligence networks in the world the United States is Central Intelligence Agency CIA and its subsidiaries have a black budget of over fifty three billion dollars annually a black budget is a classified source of government funding specifically allocated for carrying out covert operations gathering foreign intelligence and conducting military research intelligence agencies in the United States employ over 107 thousand people including 22,000 active contractors who carry out core functions of the agency's top-secret spending can be divided into four main categories data collection data analysis management facilities and support data processing and exploitation the black budget can be used to fulfill a variety of functions which includes 15 billion u.s. dollars for the extraction and analysis of foreign intelligence 11 billion u.s. dollars to defend the government's information system from foreign intervention 16 billion u.s. dollars for the operation of the nation's reconnaissance satellites and to provide elaborate map based intelligence and 5 billion u.s. dollars to assess foreign military intentions and capabilities under the defense intelligence program with vast resources at its disposal the US intelligence agencies have over the years developed an elaborate web of networks that serve its interests on a global stage [Music]
